Artist Demonstration & Workshop with Christian Dinh
Saturday, March 18th @ 10am-1pm
Join ceramicist Christian Dinh for an exploration of traditional Vietnamese ceramic techniques. The workshop begins with an artist demonstration by Dinh.
Participants will learn how to apply traditional “blue and white” glaze to a porcelain piece. Dinh references imagery that is reminiscent of his childhood, growing up within Vietnamese culture. Participants will develop their own imagery utilizing personal and cultural iconography.
The workshop includes a brief tour of Knowing Who We Are: A 20th Anniversary Exhibition Made Possible by the Terra Foundation for American Art.
All materials will be provided. Participants are encouraged to bring a reference image they would like to “paint” such as personal or cultural iconography or symbol. Finished pieces will be fired after the conclusion of the workshop.
