The evening will feature Lion and Vietnamese Fan Dance performances, along with food trucks, merchandise and craft-making by VIET (Vietnamese Initiative in Economic Training).
Author E.M. Tran will be on hand to sign the Museum’s official summer reading book, Daughters of the New Year. The book will be the focus of a Curated Conversation on Saturday, July 26 presented in collaboration with One Book One New Orleans. More information may be found here.
Additionally, Top Chef contestant and acclaimed chef Nini Nguyen will sign her cookbook Dặc Biệt. In Vietnamese culture, to be dặc biệtis to be special and luxurious, or, as chef and cooking instructor Nini Nguyen puts it, it means adding something a little extra. Born and raised in New Orleans by Vietnamese immigrants, Nini presents recipes that fuse the best of Vietnamese and New Orleans cooking.
Ogden After Hours (OAH) is a monthly event that takes place on select Thursdays and features a diverse lineup of programs reflecting and celebrating the diversity of Southern art and culture. Bringing the whole family? Each OAH offers a unique art activity table for kids to enjoy!

Photography Camp, Session 1
For campers entering grades 6 – 8
Session I: Monday, July 14 – Friday, July 18, 2025 (1 week)
9 a.m. – 3 p.m.
$300 Members per session/$350 non-members per session
Discover a new way of seeing and explore digital photography in a fun and exciting summer Photography Camp at Ogden Museum. Campers learn the basic elements of photography such as composition, exposure, lighting and the functions of the camera while creating meaningful and thought-provoking work. Campers explore elements of photography such as storytelling, portraiture, and documentary through daily field trips to area arts institutions. Back in the classroom campers practice critique and build a portfolio of work.
To close out the week-long program, students select work to showcase in a student-curated exhibition opening on White Linen Night at Ogden Museum.
Campers are encouraged to bring their own digital camera or phone camera. A limited number of digital cameras are available for campers to use at the Museum.

Fashion Camp with RicRACK NOLA
For Campers Entering Grades 6 – 8
Monday, July 14 – Friday, July 25, 2025 (2 weeks)
9 a.m. – 3 p.m.

What does the future of fashion look like? Join instructors from ricRACK in an engaging Fashion Camp focused on sustainability.
Each morning, campers will focus on creating an ecologically conscious outfit for an end-of-camp Fashion Show, while afternoons will include movement and runway planning. Throughout the two-week camp, participants will learn sewing and design skills that include re-use, repurpose and “greener” ways to dress, while also honoring diverse bodies and aesthetics.
Fashion Camp culminates in a fun and sustainable Fashion Show that highlights the students’ design process and showcases their outfits in both action and function.

Curated Conversation with artist Dawn DeDeaux

Join us for an afternoon conversation with artist Dawn DeDeaux and Bradley Sumrall, Curator of the Collection, Ogden Museum of Southern Art, exploring “FREE FALL: Milton's Paradise Lost and Found on Poydras,” The large-scale Poydras Corridor Sculpture Exhibition installation by New Orleans-based artist DeDeaux tributes ‘Paradise Lost’ by John Milton. Published in 1667, the epic poem is considered among the world’s most important literary offerings.

Marching Bands and Mimosas: The National Pan-Hellenic Council at Ogden Museum of Southern Art

Wear your HBCU or Divine 9 gear to an exclusive National Pan-Hellenic Council event at Ogden Museum of Southern Art featuring a Mimosa Bar with unlimited options. Sip on the festive cocktail while enjoying a special tour of Battle of the Bands: The HBCU Marching Band Series with artist Keith Duncan. Plus, all in attendance will have a chance to win a $500 donation to their organization’s scholarship fund, generously donated by Honda Foundation.
After the tour, stay for a Curated Conversation featuring Duncan in conversation with Ron Bechet, artist and professor of art at Xavier University of Louisiana. In addition to exploring Duncan’s new body of work, the artists will discuss the history of HBCU drum majors and marching bands, along with Duncan’s inspiration, influences and art practice.
