Art Studi-O: Exploring Abstraction with Myron Solomon
Tuesday, April 14, 21, 28 and May 5
1 pm – 4 pm
Join Museum Educator Myron Solomon for a four-week exploration of abstract painting inspired by Vicinal Visions, an exhibition highlighting the visionary work of Dusti Bongé, Ida Kohlmeyer and Dorothy Hood.
Throughout the course, students will experiment with color and composition while exploring different approaches to abstraction found in the exhibition. Inspired by Dusti Bongé and Dorothy Hood, participants will develop expressive abstract paintings using layered marks, shapes and color. Drawing influence from Ida Kohlmeyer’s sculptural forms and symbolic language, students will also create a small sculptural piece that translates abstract ideas into three dimensions.
Supplies provided, but personal materials are encouraged. Questions? Email education@ogdenmuseum.org.
