Inspired by "Solidary & Solitary: The Joyner/ Giuffrida Collection Presented by The Helis Foundation"
Saturday, October 14
10 am - 1 pm
$30 member; $35 non-member
Advanced registration required

Working with visual artist Rontherin Ratliff, participants will explore "Solidary & Solitary: The Joyner/ Giuffrida Collection Presented by The Helis Foundation" and create their own abstract works, crafting visual languages from their own experiences that place everyday goods in arrangements using repetition and formal contrast. The workshop will also explore the idea that it is an artist's role to select items and serve them up in unexpected or meaningful juxtapositions. Each participant will be given a base on which to work and the opportunity to select from an arrangement of everyday objects and art materials. Facts about the artists on exhibition will be woven into the workshop, as participants make connections between their artwork and the works on display. This program has been made possible by the generous support of the Ella West Freeman Foundation and the Selley Foundation.
