Photography Workshop: Sharpen your skills with photographer/educator Eddie Laneri
Saturday, October 27
$40 members/$45 non-members

The act of turning a camera toward something indicates that the photographer believes it has significance.  Just changing the camera’s perspective can produce something magnificent or amusing in places never expected. Inspired by "New Southern Photography," participants will hone their compositional skills to create meaningful images using the commonplace as inspiration and explore new ways of interpreting the everyday to find beauty in the banality.

This all-levels workshop is designed for those wanting to develop fundamental skills, as well as for seasoned photographers looking to sharpen compositional skills.

Originally from Long Island, Eddie has called New Orleans home since 2007, and has taught photography at Xavier University of Louisiana since 2010. She is a Salzburg Global Seminar Fellow, and is the educational board chair for the New Orleans Photo Alliance. As an artist, her work explores the how memory and conditional realities are used to construct identity. Complex Magazine named her one of the top 20 artists from New Orleans that you should know and recently British Airways, working with New Orleans Convention and Visitors Bureau, named her one of the 6 artists you have to see when visiting New Orleans. Her work has been exhibited nationally and internationally.
