Artist Workshop: Constructions
Inspired by artists such as Robert Rauchenberg and Marcel Duchamp who incorporated everyday materials into statements of High Art, William Christenberry created a series of Constructions using found objects and a consistent color palette.  During this workshop, Museum Educator, Mikhayla Anderson, will provide a peak into the world of Abstract Expressionism and Dadaism and an opportunity to create your own mixed-media Construction based on found objects and Jazz (another source of inspiration for Christenberry). The workshop will begin with a short mindfulness meditation practice with the artworks, followed by an immersive art-making experience. Art supplies provided, but feel free to bring your own found objects.
