Artist Workshop: Hand Beading with Marwan Pleasant

Join Marwan Pleasant, a Black Masking Indian artist with over 20 years of experience in an immersive hands-on workshop. Participants will learn the foundational techniques of traditional hand beading. Attendees will gain cultural insight, technical skill and creative confidence as they explore the artistry behind this longstanding craft. 

Participants will learn the foundations of hand beading and begin a beaded design on canvas.

What You’ll Learn
    1.    How to identify and select various types of beads and materials.
    2.    How to properly thread a needle and securely stitch beads for long-lasting designs.
    3.    Multiple beginner-friendly techniques for developing and executing bead patterns.

All workshops are conducted in a friendly and welcoming environment. All materials are provided. All levels are welcomed.
