Craft Happy Hour: Indigo Dyeing and Shibori Techniques with Aaron Sanders Head

Join Alabama artist Aaron Sanders Head for an evening of exploring Indigo and Shibori. Participants will learn to dye fabric with a plant-based indigo vat and learn to create natural blue tones on fabric. Participants will then learn shibori techniques, with a focus on Kumo (twist resist) and Itajime (shape resist), to create patterns on fabric. Participants will leave with dyed fabric and a shibori-dyed wall-hanging. All necessary materials will be provided, and participants are encouraged to bring their own small, natural fiber items to dye if time allows.
