Craft Happy Hour: Indigo Dying with Lil Bits Cloth
Wednesday, Nov 2nd
6-8 PM

During this class students will learn about the powerful plant of indigo. Students will learn how to make a 1-2-3- indigo vat, how to properly use and care for it, and learn about different surface design techniques such as itajime and shibori tying and clamping and other forms of resist dyeing. Students will realize these techniques on bandanas. This class is taught by Eliza Wapner who creates naturally dyed goods under the name Lil Bits Cloth. She has been experimenting with and learning from indigo for about 5 years and loves sharing the process with new students. You can find her work in the Ogden Museum shop, online, and around the city.
