The Ogden Museum is excited to bring campers a creative, engaging and, most importantly, a FUN experience this summer! We are thrilled to announce the opening of registration for Online Photography Camp!

Campers will spend the first week learning basic elements of photography including composition, exposure, storytelling and functions of their camera. In the second week, students will focus on more advanced areas of photography such as photojournalism, portraiture, lighting and photo-related technologies. During the program, campers will create a portfolio of edited work which will be celebrated at a virtual opening and gallery tour at the conclusion of camp. Specific information about the celebration will be communicated in June.

Photography campers may use any type of digital camera (including phone cameras). Before camp begins, Ms. Aubrey will be in touch with all campers regarding individual equipment needs.

During Online Photography Camp, students will:
1.    Engage in unique, creative and fun activities.
2.    Explore photography techniques.
3.    Interact with their peers and make new friends.
4.    Be engaged with the creative process.
5.    Independently complete projects

Sample Program Schedule
The 2-week session of Online Photography Camp will consist of two time blocks per day. (Please note this is a tentative schedule and subject to change.)

Sample A Block

Morning live Zoom meeting with Ms. Aubrey. We will have a check-in, see how students are feeling, lay out objectives for the day, celebrate and constructively critique one image from each student’s homework assignment, and point students to self-directed work and tutorials in Google Classroom.

9:30-11:00
Self-directed work that includes a tutorial video in Google Classroom, supplemental materials/activities (videos, readings, writing, sketching) and an assigned individual photo shoot assignment around the house based on Google Classroom materials. Ms. Aubrey will be available on Zoom during this time block to answer questions for campers as they are working on the assignment.

11:00 – 11:30
Regroup, sharing of work and experiences, questions, reflection and insights.
